An Essay On Purpose
There’s nothing more fulfilling than to live life with purpose.
Think of how many lives you have the power to influence, inspire and improve when operating from this space. There’s more joy, more meaning, more possibility, and greater health, wealth and freedom.
The impossible becomes possible.
Individuals, families, and entire industries can be transformed by a single human living at the growing edge of their potential. They are transformed with clarity on who they are, what they value, and their commitment to excelling in the game of life.
Excellence is not a goal to be achieved –
It’s a value.
It’s not what the world asks of you but rather it’s asking more of yourself than anyone else. It’s a way of being, a fluid process for living with compassion, gratitude, creativity and grit. Each person embodies a unique set of attributes, skills, and experiences that shape who they are. To take absolute responsibility for what you are creating is the first step in reaching ever-increasing levels of potential. You must embrace the discomfort to find comfort in the uncomfortable.
When I was finally able to express my personal philosophy, everything shifted. It was as if the lens through which I viewed the elements of my day-to-day life, all the inputs, interactions, and activities suddenly became crystal clear. This new ‘lens’ was bringing into focus where my energy and attention needed to be placed in each moment of my day. I became fully present and ALIVE.
We are living in a time when things can change in the blink of an eye. Handling the unpredictable, uncertain and unknown is a powerful life-skill. Knowing your purpose provides you with the solid core needed to weather the storms and navigate uncharted territories. Your purpose embodies the very things you need to continue moving onward and upward with passion and perseverance.
Your purpose acts to guide your thoughts, words and behaviors in service of your vision. It makes you more willing to lean in, push yourself further and learn faster. To know and understand yourself is the first step in authentically connecting with and ‘getting’ others. Relationships are enriched when you’re no longer competing to win against anyone. Instead, you are competing to continue playing The Great (and infinite) Game of Life in thoughtful collaboration with others, everyone co-creating a world that allows us all to thrive.
